Harnoor Lal is a 4th year mechanical engineering BS/MS student at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His passions lie in subjects at the intersection of computation and engineering, such as simulation, optimization, controls, and machine learning. Currently, his research focuses on addressing the 'black box' problem in machine learning using correct by construction models that use geometric constraints to solve learning tasks as opposed to optimization methods. He hopes to continue this research into his 5th year master's and has ambitions to earn a PhD in computer science.Â
